Introduce:

miwaLyric, "Soula", is a female Nisei (2nd generation Japanese-American) rap/hip hop artist, poet, spoken word artist, photographer, event organizer, producer, writer, designer, dj and activist, who was born in Los Angeles, schooled in Downey, raised and working in Little Tokyo, LA.

Music was a natural thing for this 23 year old lyricist, starting piano at the age of four (4), songwriting, poetry, and wrote lyrics since elementary school, and organized and starred as "Phantom" in the hit musical: "Phantom of the Opera" in the 5th grade.

Being different from style, face, hair to race, miwaLyric lived a rough childhood with obstacles one after another waiting for her failure. Finding God, singing in Gospel Choir at Church and school, and living in between the lines of late rapper Tupac Shakur's poetry and lyrics, this lost Angel found comfort for the first time. Overcoming the deadly disease Scarlet Fever, living with a bladder problem for over 15 years, surviving a surgery, bullied and betrayed, harassed by teachers because of being a Japanese-American, and living the school years as a loner. miwaLyric is definitely a survivor!!!

miwaLyric performs at different venues all through-out Southern California, and have released an album with her former group "AZIZ" at the age 16. Produced by Universal Records songwriter, I-Roc, the group opened up and performed with artists such as Tony Toni Tone, Boo-ya Tribe, and Bad Azz. The group's song "Mama," also played in the major motion picture, "Little Nicky," the Adam Sandler film. The group split, and miwaLyric started her solo career in the year 2000. This independent female have hosted and performed at radio shows such as 90.7FM KPFK, teaches a hip hop artist development class, organizes a monthly hip hop event in Little Tokyo, downtown Los Angeles, and is working to launch her company, Soula System Entertainment, a production, studio, music school, record/art/clothing shop, gallery and events venue scheduled to open in 2006.

Also in the process of the works, is a clothing line with cultural/political expressions and designs/art. With a freshly released solo project, "the Recipe," miwaLyric takes her position in the music industry to a new level. This second release, and first solo project is produced by miwaLyric and the drummer Genn, mixed and arranged by the illest engineer/producer Stanley Malveaux (KYEOA Entertainment, Universal Records), and all melodies and lyrics by miwaLyric, where she expresses her history, culture, past experiences and beliefs. miwaLyric will be hitting the air waves and the charts as she plans for her Summer Tour.

Through music, she expresses and touches souls. Through poetry and lyrics, this soldier speaks and stands up for her own. Against all odds, miwaLyric does the un-expectable, and the unreachable. The diversity, which seemed like a burden at first, is just truly a blessing, cause miwaLyric is driven and lives in her quote, "the Sky is Unlimited!!!"
